Back from Crete

We are back from Crete. We had a wonderful, sunny, interesting and relaxing time there.
The first day when E. played beach volleyball, I made a sketch. Then I did a drawing which shows a "fresco" from the famous Minoan palace of Knossos; an advanced and fascinating civilization long before the ancient, classical greek culture.
The next day, we rented a car and made a trip to the east and south of the island. We drove through some tiny villages in the mountains. There were many old people and some children; all very friendly and curious; some of them said "yassas"(which means "hello") to us through the open car window, when we passed through and some of them looked at us as if they still hadn't seen foreigners in their whole life...
To be continued...
Fortsetzung folgt...

Claudia, you must have had a wonderful time! I was on Crete on year in November and it was beautiful even at that late month!
My sketchbook pages for that project you asked about were 8" x 10". Normally, I use 7" x 9" pages.

Ooh Claudia, I'm so jealous! These journal pages are wonderful - I've never been to Crete, but I'm starting to think about it......
