Experiments

At the moment, I feel an urge to use strong, bold colours. Maybe this is due to the warm weather and temperatures we had ultimately - or maybe this is an expression which comes from within? I first refused to paint in such a manner, but now I like it more and more. Maybe this is only temporarily, though...

claudia, they are really beautiful bright colors. I'm glad you are feeling this way.

My granddaughter is in Berlin now. Where are you? That is so sweet of you to offer help if she needs it.

The strong colours work so well with your fresh approach to applying the watercolour. I like both of these very much!

I do love your use of brighter colours too. The first one is a real favourite; I do not know where it is from, but the colours make me think of Italy, Rome and the lovely sunbaked colours there. And even thought the colours you use are brighter, they still seem subtle since you use watercolours. Lovely!

The weather has been really lovely here too, with hot, sunny days and long light evenings (my favourites). Are you coming to Norway this summer, Claudia?

Lo primero que me vino a la mente es que veo la influencia de August Macke y de el tiempo de German Expressionism. The colors are bold and vibrant yet the shapes simple. Blocks of color!!! This is really outstanding! Gracias por tu apoyo en estos dias dificiles.

I very much like your bright colors. These are lovely paintings. I esp love the tree and its reflection. Certainly they are recognizable as your work. Delicate. And I wonder, the colors don't seem THAT bright to me, not gaudy or anything. Maybe they seem so bright to you as they are different from what you usually do?

Kim at kim-creatingspace.blogspot.com has done an interview with me today, Wednesday.

wow, these paintings are amazing. You have great composition and dramatic color sense. I'll look forward to visiting again.

I'm sure you "watermark" your paintings for a good reason, but I thought if you used a smaller watermark, and perhaps at the bottom, people might take your images to use on their webs or perhaps make a greeting card.

Now of course that is what you want to prevent, but on the upside it could also be a great form of "viral marketing".

I do really see and feel the heat in these pictures. The colors are just perfect. I hope you're enjoying your internet break! A real vacation even if you're just staying home!
