I wanted to do a black and white drawing this time, but then I decided to do a light wash for the shadows. Unfortunately, the paper of this sketch book is very thin (90g/qm) and not suitable for even the lightest washes. It is the "Fabriano Artist's Journal" called "Quadrato"and it includes a wonderful range of paper in different shades. It is ideal for ink, pencils and pastels. I bought it because it's quadratic (16x16cm - 6.3 x 6.3 inches). Next time, I should try pastels on it...
Ich wollte eine einfache Schwarz-Weiß-Zeichnung anfertigen, aber dann habe ich doch die Schatten mit etwas Wasser angelegt. Leider ist das Papier dieses Skizzenbuchs sehr dünn (90g/qm) und auch für leichteste Lavierungen nicht geeignet. Es ist ein "Fabriano Artist's Journal" und heißt "Quadratico". Es beinhaltet eine Reihe wunderschöner Farbtöne und ist eigentlich gedacht für Tusche, Bleistift und Pastel. Ich kaufte es, weil es quadratisch ist. Das nächste Mal sollte ich vielleicht doch versuchen, mit Pastellstiften hineinzumalen...

A Very nice drawing, Claudia.I like the faint wash you've added to suggest the shadows..it does add nice dimension as well as a bit of atmosphere...I like it.

This is a really good drawing. I was planning to draw my computer too, for this challenge, but have been putting it off because as a subject it somehow seems dull and complicated at the same time! Yours has inspired me to give it a try soon.
I have one of the Fabriano journals and it takes pastel perfectly well, but not being able to open it flat while I'm working does get on my nerves a little.
