Papercutting

The month of March starts with a little papercutting, a tree of life. Papercuttings don't have to be always in black, although the tension between a black cutting and a white paper as a background is something very special.

This is a lovely paper cutting - the variation in color makes it softer and more interesting.

  2. Delightful organic shapes. Cant believe you managed something so intricate with scissors/scapel. Did you use coloured pencils or paint for the lovely muted colours. ?

  4. Thank you, all!
@Joan: I used paper from an old calendar, but you can use paper from magazines, too.

  5. This is so pretty, Claudia. I haven't seen a 'Scherenschnitt' for a very long time. Love the bright colours. It makes a very interesting change to the black paper.
